Special One-Day Workshop:
|May 22 , 2010
9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Lunch on your own, with lots of choices at the Hill Country Galeria
During this special, all-day seminar, Hollywood script consultant, UCLA screenwriting instructor/producer/writer Tim Albaugh of Popular Films will present:
BUILDING A SCRIPT FROM THE GROUND UP
The core elements of every good script:
We'll look at these elements individually, then discuss how to use them to build a solid script, from the ground up. Be sure to watch the assigned films ahead of time that Tim will use as the basis for all discussion.
Then 90 minutes will be devoted to The Art of The Pitch. We'll discuss what makes a good pitch; what you should and shouldn't pitch. How to go about it. Maybe even hear a few from the group.
At the end of the day, Tim will hand out a one-page worksheet on which the participants can write their LOGLINE, the 8 KEY COMPONENTS of their screenplay's STRUCTURE, their two main SUBPLOTS and their CHARACTER ARCS.
One-on-One Consultations with Tim
Students can then bring these worksheets back on Sunday morning (location TBD) for individual sessions. Tim will spend 30 minutes with each interested writer, discussing their logline, structure, subplots and character arcs. The fee for each individual would be $75 for a 30-minute session or $100 for one hour. Location TBD.
